Halftone Memory is an exploration into colour pairing and offset printing. Each round card combines two tones. It challenges the way we perceive colours. Did I just see a deep green with a saturated pink or was it a bright green and with a muted pink?
The colours are reproduced by offset printing utilising 4 Neon Pantone inks. To achieve the most intensity of each hue a grain-based print screen has been designed for the project. This allowed to place the colour dots next to each other and to avoid unnecessary overlaps that would happen in by using a classic print screen. The title refers to the way the game is played, by finding the fitting half circled toned cards. And to the way it is produced by application of halftone offset printing.
